How it works

Get a GP referral online in three steps

From request to referral, entirely by telehealth — no waiting room.

1

Request online

Tell us what you need a referral for — a specialist, an imaging scan, or a pathology test — and give us your basic details. It takes about two minutes, and there's no payment required just to request.

If you're not sure which specialist or test you need, that's fine; our GP can advise during the consult.

2

Telehealth GP consult

An AHPRA-registered GP calls you by phone or video, reviews your history and symptoms, and confirms whether the referral is clinically appropriate. This follows the same standards as an in-person GP appointment.

Consults are bulk billed for eligible Medicare card holders — the GP will confirm any costs before proceeding.

3

Referral issued to you

Where clinically appropriate, your referral, pathology request or imaging request is issued electronically and sent to you — ready to book your specialist, scan or test and claim your Medicare rebate.

A GP referral to a specialist is valid for 12 months (or indefinite for an ongoing condition).
